Portal (Gateway) Services Restored

Our Data Centre provider has provided the following response regarding the connectivity issues from earlier today.

"The issue was caused by an upstream provider link failure, however it highlighted an issue with our automatic failover to our alternative provider. This meant that some external internet sites were unavailable until the failover was implemented manually. We will now be reviewing the failover mechanism to ensure that next time the failover occurs automatically.

In general terms, one of their internet links had failed, but the automatic function of a redundant internet link did not step in. Our Data Centre provider will be further investigating their fail over procedures to mitigate this behaviour and impact.
